# ABOUT YOU Top-Up Discounts

This guide will help you understand how to participate in our sales campaigns, the benefits of doing so, how ABOUT YOU Top-Ups work, and how campaign discounts are settled in our invoices.

### Overview of Campaigns

Several times per season, we offer partners the opportunity to join our major sales campaigns. These campaigns are designed to boost sales and increase visibility while helping to reduce inventory holding costs.

In general, there are two different types of campaigns:

* Discounts on the whole shop: Participation requires discounts across the entire assortment.
* Discounts on selected products/parts of your assortment: Partners can choose to participate with specific parts of their assortment.

### Benefits of Participating in Campaigns

Participating in ABOUT YOU campaigns is one of the most effective ways to boost your brand's storefront visibility, drive traffic, and significantly increase conversion rates. Here is why joining our promotional campaigns is essential for growing your sales on the marketplace:

* Increased Sales & Traffic: Drive additional sales volume through heightened storefront visibility and attractive customer discounts.
* ABOUT YOU Top-Up Discounts: Maximize your conversion rates without extra margin impact. ABOUT YOU co-invests by offering additional on-top discounts funded directly by ABOUT YOU.
* Improved Placement: Gain better placement in product assortments on our platform.
* Brand Boosting: Enhance your brand awareness through attractive discounts.
* Inventory Reduction: Move slow-selling or seasonal products more effectively.

### ABOUT YOU Top-Up Discounts

To help marketplace partners maximize their sales performance during campaigns, ABOUT YOU provides Top-Up Discounts, additional promotional funding provided directly by ABOUT YOU on top of active product pricing.

#### How Top-Ups Work

ABOUT YOU automatically offers on-top discounts to products that are not currently being discounted via the sales campaigns tool in the Seller Center. This occurs regardless of whether a partner is actively participating in a campaign.

| Program Feature   | Application Criteria                                                                | Top-Up Mechanics                                                             | Partner Impact                                                                                                             |

| Automatic Top-Ups | Products that are not discounted via the sales campaigns tool in the Seller Center. | ABOUT YOU automatically applies an on-top discount funded 100% by ABOUT YOU. | Fully automated. Enables non-discounted products to capture additional campaign traffic without affecting partner margins. |

📌 Key Rule on On-Top Funding: All Top-Up discounts provided by ABOUT YOU do not reduce your agreed baseline payout. Standard invoice mechanics ensure you are only charged for your voluntary partner discounts.

#### Managing Your Participation & Opt-Out

All marketplace partners are automatically included with on-top discounts to ensure maximum exposure during major promotional events.

* Default Inclusion: All partners are automatically included with on-top discounts for products not discounted via the campaign tool.

* Opting Out: If you do not wish for ABOUT YOU to apply on-top discounts to your products, you can actively opt out in the Seller Center at any time for every campaign or as a default for all campaigns in the campaign settings:

* The final AY fund is decided 3 days before the participation deadline and replaces the ABOUT YOU funds range.

### How to Participate in Campaigns

Partners will receive an invitation via email, usually within 9 days before the start of the campaign, to inform them about the upcoming campaign.

#### How to add products to a campaign via SCAYLE

1. Login to Partner Portal using your Marketplace Account > Marketing > New Sales Promotions. Make sure to login with your new Marketplace account, not the old one.
2. Find the description of each campaign, where you can see key framework information: Sales promotion period, participation deadline, participating country(ies), reduction of your choice (only increments of 5%), and minimum reduction (if required). We cannot make any exceptions if the deadlines are not met. Manual lists via Email will not be accepted.
3. Click JOIN on the campaign you would like to participate in.
4. Read and follow the next steps (1 to 3) on the Sales Promotion Overview.
5. To participate, you can download the product list via the DOWNLOAD button from the respective campaign entry. Product lists show all the partner's products that are live in the Shop at that time. Fill in the column Reduction Offer with the desired discount in absolute numbers (example: 30 for 30%) for each product. If a product does not participate in the campaign, the entire line must be removed.
6. Once the list is edited and finalized, upload it via the UPLOAD TEMPLATE button.

Please note:

* The lists are on Shop Product ID level (not on EAN level).
* If there is a “yes” in the column “Deleted” - it means that the product has not been in stock for more than four weeks.
* 📌 The reductions for major campaigns via the portal are uploaded by About You. Only these reductions will count as an “active participation” (not the ones through the middleware). Nonetheless, reductions via the middleware will remain active at all times.

### Campaign Invoicing Process

All discounts from campaign participation are directly applied to the RRP of your sold items within your standard monthly self-billing invoices. Please keep the following key settlement details in mind regarding campaign accounting:

* Campaign participation is reflected in the invoices by applying the granted discount to the RRP of sold items. These statements are issued on a rolling basis at the start of every month for the preceding period.
* ABOUT YOU Top-Up Settlement: Any additional on-top discounts provided by ABOUT YOU are funded entirely by ABOUT YOU and do not deduct from your baseline payout. Your invoice reflects only your voluntary partner discount.
* Refunds will be credited through your upcoming monthly AY voucher compensation invoice.
* Please note that no additional settlement files or separate PDF documents will be provided for these promotions.
* The campaign participation directly reduces the RRP of items in the self-billing invoices.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.partner.aboutyou.com/about-you-campaigns/about-you-top-up-discounts.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
