Default Location

What is a default location?

The default location specifies which location must be used to keep track of your inventory. You can select one location. The inventory quantity of this location will be used in order to set the stock that is available to be sold in the Seller Center. If no location is specified, the Seller Center will use the stock which is available across all locations.

Do not delete a location which is currently in use in the Seller Center. It might lead to unwanted behavior.

Setting a default location

You can navigate to Settings -> Configure Shopify to set a default location.

Adjust the default location and persist your changes by clicking "Save". Your changes will not take effect immediately. It might take a few seconds to several minutes for all stocks to be adjusted.
